.NET Application Framework for Windows Forms
March 23, 2003  [ Microsoft, NY ]
What is an application framework? According to Buschmann: "A Framework is a partially complete software system that is intended to be instantiated. It defines the architecture for a family of systems and provides the basic building blocks to create them. It also defines the places were adaptations for specific functionality should be made. Professionals at ELLKAY, have built such a framework using .NET Windows Forms. In this session Kamal will demonstrate an Application Framework that is targeted towards business applications. The Framework contains reusable components, tools and various applications blocks that help you in design savings, time savings, cost savings and test savings.

  ADO.NET Databinding Part I
January 30, 2003  [ PADD, NJ ]
We all know that ADO.Net is the means for retrieving data in .Net and this group has had several talks on the topic. What we don't have, is a good model for processing data in a real business environment. What is the best way to bind data to controls without having to code a long list of cumbersome statements? It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Kamal Patel who will talk about his approach to accomplishing this. We have seen in the past, how Kamal's approach is practical and down-to-earth. This makes his talk a don't-miss event for anyone developing data intensive apps in .Net.
