LKDermConnect brings new meaning to laboratory ordering for Dermatology practices.
LKDermConnect offers a fully integrated solution for recording and printing laboratory-customized requisitions with unlimited number of biopsy sites, diagnoses, related treatments, images, and photographs, as well as manages a Logbook with complete history, all complying with HIPAA standards of medical record privacy.
Utilizing the feature-rich LKDermConnect, a dermatologist creates a new requisition for a patient, transparently retrieving the patient’s demographic and insurance data from the physician’s practice management system (PMS); thus, eliminating the need for transcribing and making potential errors. Selecting a biopsy site is as easy as pointing and clicking a location on a human body (or a section) image that is customized for a female or for a male. Each requisition may have as many biopsy sites as needed. The physician selects diagnoses or “rule outs” and related treatments from pre-configured lists, and can customize those lists or add data manually. Selected site images and site photographs are stored in the system and easily viewed along with a diagnosis log. Among other features, the system supports multi-physician clinics, and the ability to configure rooms and their related requisition and label printers, so that a physician can print them in the room where s/he sees the patient. And, the system can be configured for different laboratories and their customized requisition forms and label.
LKDermConnect is an integrated combination of two software components: A Windows-based requisition-generating component that retrieves patient information from the dermatologist’s practice management system (PMS), and a Web 2.0-based component for managing the physician’s Logbook, a database with all history of recoded requisitions available online by using a standard web browser.
